Vocal Class Descriptions

Mosaic uses vocal training to identify with students intrapersonal and interpersonal social emotions skills. We incorporate culturally responsive music diversity to display how emotions are shown and felt in one’s body as an individual and group. The vocal classes offered are to promote technique while valuing oneself, cooperation and provide opportunities for relationship developing skills and cultural social awareness to empower both boys and girls to express an array of potential hidden emotions. Students will be given tools to unleash their creativity vocally and be able to participate in giving ideas and self-managing to bolster self-esteem. Whether you want to sing for enjoyment, school plays, or auditions, our teachers will help you reach your full potential by being able to induce emotions, which will boost not only mood, but also a sense of purpose, while alleviating feelings of stress and depression.

Beginner: ages 5-9 (with exceptions)

In this class students will learn basic introduction to vocal warm up to create comfort to assess range, tone, and quality. Students will also learn pitch match, develop vocal control, and learn to sing in tune along with breathing techniques. Students will be introduced to improving their voice through proper breathing, posture, tone, and diction.

Beginner/Intermediate: ages 10+ (with exceptions)

In this class students will learn basic to intermediate introduction to vocal warm up to create comfort to assess and stretch their range, tone, and quality. Students will also learn pitch match, further develop vocal control and learn to sing in tune along with building breath control and body strength along with determining vocal range, volume, pitch, and pace. Students will be introduced to improving their voice/singing through proper breathing, posture, tone production, intonation, diction, phrasing and ear training. Our teachers will help you gain confidence and consistency in your singing.

Intermediate/Advanced: ages 10+

In this class students will learn intermediate to advance vocal warmups which consists of vocal exercises, such as running scales. It may also include warming up the body with stretches to relieve tension and help wake the sense, with special emphasis on the jaw, tongue, and lips. The latter may include tongue twisters. Students will be taught to stretch their range, build breath control, and body strength without interfering with vocal personality. Students will also learn vocal power, and good vocal technique without straining. Students will also learn to sing in harmony and be challenged to improve their skills and knowledge in listening, musical score reading, collaborating, creating and music diversity.

Vocal Training is a 1 on 1 class schedule and will be determined by teacher once requested. The teacher/instructor will set a schedule for you and help you meet goals that you set for yourself.

Piano Class Descriptions

Mosaic uses Piano training to identify with students intrapersonal and interpersonal social emotions skills. We incorporate culturally responsive music diversity to display how emotions are shown and felt in one’s body as an individual and group. The classes offered are to promote technique while valuing oneself, cooperation and provide opportunities for relationship developing skills and cultural social awareness to empower both boys and girls to express an array of potential hidden emotions. Students will be given tools to unleash their creativity musically and be able to participate in giving ideas and self-managing to bolster self-esteem while reducing anxiety. Whether you want to play for enjoyment, school plays, or auditions, our teachers will help you reach your full potential by being able to induce emotions, which will boost not only mood, but also a sense of purpose, while alleviating feelings of stress and depression. Piano lessons and practice sessions also support memory development, hand-eye
coordination, and fine motor skills. 

Piano also embodies a shared identity and a sense of community.

Beginner: ages 5-8

In this class students will learn basic introduction to a piano warm up to create comfort to assess range, and quality using a keyboard to create simplistic piano selections to share by performing in the community.

All levels: ages 9+

In this class students will learn basic to intermediate introduction to a piano warm up to create comfort to assess and stretch their range, and quality. In this class students will be trained to recognize tones, intervals, and chords as well as helping you to develop a sense of pitch. Students will be a taught a song selection to share by performing in the community.

Bucket Drumming Class Descriptions

Mosaic uses bucket drumming training to identify with students intrapersonal and interpersonal social emotions skills. We incorporate culturally responsive music diversity to display how emotions are shown and felt in one’s body as an individual and group. The classes offered are to promote technique while valuing oneself, cooperation and provide opportunities for relationship developing skills and cultural social awareness to empower both boys and girls to express an array of potential hidden emotions. Students will be given tools to unleash their creativity musically and be able to participate in giving ideas and self-managing to bolster self-esteem while reducing anxiety. Whether you want to play for enjoyment, school plays, or auditions, our teachers will help you reach your full potential by being able to induce emotions, which will boost not only mood, but also a sense of purpose, while alleviating feelings of stress and depression. Drumming also embodies a shared identity and a sense of community as well as a means of creating continuity between the past and the present.coordination, and fine motor skills. 

Piano also embodies a shared identity and a sense of community.

Beginner: ages 5-8

In this class students will learn basic introduction to drum warm up to create comfort to assess range, and quality using a 5-gallon bucket and drumsticks and simplistic drum routines to share by performing in the community.

All levels: ages 9+

In this class students will learn basic to intermediate introduction to a bucket drumming warm up to create comfort to assess and stretch their range, and quality. Students will also learn basic movement of dance to further develop the feeling of the beat. Drummers will also create dance infused routines to perform at events to create an aspiring art form to share.

Note: 1 on 1 will be determined by teacher once requested. The teacher/instructor will set a schedule for you and help you meet goals that you set for yourself.
